Case Study: Central Vacuum Technology Provides Compliance to OSHA Standards at Lignin Factory.

Looking to ensure the safety of their employees while complying with OSHA's combustible dust regulations, our customer was faced with the need to keep their United States facility clean of harmful and combustible dust and particulates. Hoffman & Lamson's engineers were able to design a central vacuum system that would allow the customer to completely clean a total of 12 separate areas without the need to transport equipment or install several systems. Furthermore, Hoffman & Lamson was able to design a system that would provide their facility with the safety features required by combustible dust and particulates, minimizing the risk of a dust explosion at the facility.

OSHA Compliant Vacuum Systems for Crystalline Silica Standards

Depending on the application, engineered vacuum systems are often subject to a variety of national and international standards and guidelines, such as those outlined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). As part of a recent update, OSHA has issued two new standards aimed at protecting workers for exposure to respirable crystalline silica. The new standards, to be implemented by June 23rd 2018, target general industry and maritime, and construction, and will allow employers to tailor silica capture solutions to the specific conditions in their workplaces.
